OUR COMMITMENTS

“The three most important ways to lead people are: by example… by example… by example… ” Albert Schweitzer

Our commitment to...

People

Oxygen was formed on the basis that we work with people we like, we are a fair and equitable team and we have fun.  We know that most people spend more time at work than with their families and that means we are each other’s extended families.  We will always go beyond the minimum requirements and commit to paying fairly, working flexibly to ensure everyone has a work/life balance and ensuring that our suppliers do the same.

We work in an industry which we are incredibly proud of and we want everyone who works with us to feel the same.

Sustainability

It’s no coincidence that we are called Oxygen: oxygen is our lifeblood and, therefore, keeping our planet safe, healthy and happy is at the heart of what we do.

The film and television industry is acutely aware of its carbon footprint and committed to reducing it.

As a studio provider, we can help by:

Committing to all studios being at least carbon neutral and, ideally, carbon negative.

That means:

Using renewable energy wherever we can, including solar panels on buildings and green spaces, highly-insulated buildings and taking a “fabric-first” approach to all our stages and associated buildings.

Building studios in areas where we know there is already the expertise to deliver the studios and productions, which supports the existing community and minimises additional travel requirements.

Encouraging sustainable travel to work by building near train stations, along bus routes and providing cycle spaces.

Working with local suppliers and businesses to support the local economy whilst also reducing our carbon footprint.

Building Communities

No person is an island and no studio operates as one either.

We believe that everyone who lives, works and studies close to our studios should benefit from our presence.  That means:

Working with young people to provide them with the tools to work in the industry when they are older.

Sharing our skills and knowledge base to anyone in further education or adult education to support them in their career choices.

Enabling access to our studio sites so that local communities can see what we do and gain the same appreciation of the industry which we have.

Supporting local projects and causes and actively encouraging our employees and suppliers to do the same.

Employing as many local people and businesses as possible to ensure we are positively contributing to the local economy and lives of our neighbours.
